Tell our readers all about yourself

I am a working Muslim mommy of 2 boys, who is a major geek with a penchant for gaming, baking, health foods and obviously….. Harry Potter.

What is the main mission of your blog and what content can they expect to find there?

Official Dragon Mommy was started after a conversation with some family members, and I realised that as parents, we all go through similar situations but are sometimes too afraid to reach out to others who are going through the same thing.
That’s when I decided to share my most unbiased perspective of parenting as a working mom, with content ranging from how to deal with toddlers, healthy eating and coping with high functioning anxiety.

What is your greatest passion?

My greatest passion is being a mom, and I find that it challenges me in ways that make me want to be the best version of myself possible while simultaneously pushing me into things I never thought I would be capable of doing.

What or who inspires you to live your best life?

Definitely my family, I always thought I would be a career woman with no interest in children or marriage, but then I finally got married and had children while still pursuing a career. This taught me that I could live my best life with the best cheerleaders, my husband and children.

Where can we find you in your spare time?

I love projects, whether it is trying out a new recipe or building something with my kids, sitting still is just not an option. 😊

How do you get balance in your life?

Balance is key in my life, so I usually will take a moment in the evening to pray and reflect, this just helps to restore some balance in my very busy life.

What “rules” do you live by?

Balance the three facets of your life always, your mind, soul and body. Balance your mind with positive thoughts and productivity. Balance your soul with prayer and reflection. Balance your body with good food. So if you feel like splurging on yourself, go for it, we only have one life, and we should live it to its capacity.

What three things could you not live without?

I could not live without my diary (mommy’s brains means I forget a lot), my cellphone and most importantly, my lifeblood….COFFEE.
TOP 3 recommendations for the mommies reading this post?
– Be easy on yourself, and sometimes we try too hard to make our kids lives magically when all they really want is just our time.
– Enjoy the moment, stress about the clean up later
– Don’t forget about yourself, keep that last slice of cake if you really wanted it.
